In order to assist its members in the quality control of their products, GICA has establidhed, for many years already, a laboraory for anlysis and testing.
The two GICA laboratories (physical-chemical tests and microbiological tests) have carried out surveillance assessments according to the ISO/CEI 17025 standard, carried out by TUNAC on October 30, 2020, following which the accreditation decision committee for agri-food analyses has decided to maintain their accreditation to carry out the analyses described in the attached appendix (Photos below), until January 29, 2023.
This important tool is made available to GICA’s members and customers for analyses that allow product testing to be carried out throughout the year, especially during processing campaigns.Nearly 1000 samples of food preserves and semi-preserves are analysed each year.
The GICA testing Laboratory also participates in the training of young students and industrial technicians through the organisation of internships.
It also ensures normative monitoring and participates in the carrying out of specific studies on product quality.
In addition, the GICA’s laboratory participates in national and international inter comparison tests as part of a network of inter laboratory tests.
The GICA laboratory has a metrology service which enables it to check its instruments by its own standards. In this context, the GICA ensures that its standards are checked and connected to the international calibration chain.
The GICA testing laboratory offers to the companies of the canned and semi-preserved food sector a range of analysis: physicochimical, biological and trace element researches.
