The “Food Quality Label” is a sign of quality that was created in 2010 as part of the implementation of the national industrial strategy at the initiative of the General Directorate of Food Industries under the Ministry of Industry. It is granted to processed foodstuffs justifying a superior, specific or traditional quality. (Mettre le lien vers le décret 25 – 25).
By this we mean:
- product of superior quality: any product possessing characteristics
- establishing a level of superior quality resulting in particular from its particular conditions of production or manufacture which distinguish it from similar standard products normally marketed in accordance with current usage and regulations,
- product of specific quality: any product having a specific characteristic or set of characteristics which clearly distinguishes it from other similar products or foodstuffs of the same category,
- products of traditional quality: any product of superior or specific quality marketed on the local and/or external market for a period showing a proven transmission between generations. This Period shall not be less than 25 years.
The Food quality label is recognized by its logo which is a guarantee of the
high quality of the products. The logo is inspired by an old coin,
representing a smiling sun and invites you to discover the good Tunisian
culinary habits.
The Food Quality Label logo is registered in the national trademark register
in accordance with the above-mentioned law n ° 2001-36 of April 17, 2001
relating to the protection of trademarks, service marks.
