At the City of Science, the 3rd edition of the Tunisian Competition of Local Products began on October 5th and will continue on October 6th and 7th. The competition is organized by the Agency for the Promotion of Agricultural Investments (APIA), under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries and in collaboration with Canned Food Industies Group(GICA) under the authority of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines and the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Investment Support with the collaboration of the Market Access Project for Agri-Food and Local Products (PAMPAT 2) financed by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of the Swiss Confederation (SECO) and implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

600 products participate in the competition.

 The categories of local products eligible to participate in the competition are

– Olives and olive oil (including flavored oils)

– Fruits and aromatic plants (e.g. dried fruits, jams, vinegars, etc)

– Animal products (e.g. honey, cheese, salted fish products, etc.)

– Vegetables (e.g. harissa, mechouia salad, powdered corete, etc.)

-Cereal-based products (couscous, bsissa)

It should be noted that the results will be announced on October 14 and a market of local products will be held on October 15th, 16th and 17th at the City of Science in Tunis.
