Within the framework of the project for market Access of agrofood and local Products (PAMPAT),financed by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and executed by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in close collaboration with the Ministries of Industry and Agriculture, 6 to 8 industrial companies in the harissa canning sector will be selected for assistance under this project, in particular for the introduction of the “food quality label”.
The specifications for the quality label for industrial harissa were drawn up by the Tunisian canned food industries (GICA), under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry, and are currently in the process of being signed.
In the meantime, GICA has undertaken assistance and blank audit actions at the level of the factories that have expressed their support for the labelling process.
This PAMPAT project, aimed at improving access to the national and international markets for certified canned harissa , offers selected companies training, assistance and advice services for the
granting of the label under the conditions of the specifications and a coaching to improve market access for their products.
The conditions for selection and the benefits of this assistance are available in the call for applications launched by UNIDO. A copy is available in the members’ area of the GICA website in the “documents to download” section.
