
Situation on July 9th, 2019
22 tomato double concentrate production companies out of the 26 units in operation started tomato processing for the 2019 season until July 9. Processing reached 158 thousand T of fresh tomatoes, compared to 136 thousand T at the same date last year, that is 16% more. 41% of the quantities were processed in 13 companies in Cap-Bon, while companies in the North-West and Central regions (Béjà, Kairouan, Sidi-Bouzid and Le Kef) processed 32%.
Tomato harvest progress in the producing regions as of July 9th:
Kairouan: 50% / 2550 ha
Cap-Bon: 20% / 5800 ha
Gafsa: 25% / 1300 ha
Sidi Bouzid: 10% / 1300 ha
Beja: 10% / 1000 ha
