Ce dernier est pass\u00e9 de 5.75 kg de tomates fraiches pour produire 1Kg de double concentr\u00e9 en 2009 \u00e0 6.7 en 2021.Cette d\u00e9t\u00e9rioration r\u00e9sulte de la mauvaise qualit\u00e9 des tomates r\u00e9ceptionn\u00e9es caract\u00e9ris\u00e9es par une faible teneur en sucre (Brix) et un taux \u00e9lev\u00e9 de d\u00e9chets.Pour y rem\u00e9dier, le GICA a lanc\u00e9 depuis 2015 un programme d\u2019essais vari\u00e9taux de la culture de tomate de saison supervis\u00e9 par Ing. Ahmed Arbi. Ayant comme objectifs la caract\u00e9risation et l\u2019\u00e9valuation quantitative et qualitative du potentiel productif des vari\u00e9t\u00e9s disponibles sur le march\u00e9 local, ce programme a couvert les principales r\u00e9gions de production de tomate \u00e0 savoir Nabeul, Sidi Bouzid, Kairouan, B\u00e9ja et Gafsa.
